Econova has acquired Weibull Trädgård

On March 3 Econova became the largest garden company in the Nordic region through the acquisition of Weibull Trädgård.

Weibull Trädgård AB is the leading company on the garden market in the Nordic region. The company markets and sells seeds, soil, bird seeds and other garden products and owns well known brands such as Weibulls, Hammenhögs and Simontorp. Weibull Trädgård has 180 employees and the company’s turnover for 2007 was 503 MSEK.

The acquisition strengthens Econova’s position on the garden market.

Chairman of the board, Göran Andersson, emphasises that the acquisition is an important step of Econova’s growth strategy.

We anticipate many positive synergy effects and the potential for joint business development is considerable. This acquisition will mean that we will be able to offer our customers throughout the Nordic region an even wider range of products with well-known brand names and with improved logistical solutions.
